HSA was founded by Mike Slattery in 1998, who, at the time, was developing a rescue board and tow surfing rope with a staff of one.  Filling in a need for PWC equipment grew organically due to demands for product from government agencies and the fringe of the general public.  In 2003, HSA formed into a part-time business and increased capacity by adding a production facility in Morro Bay, California. Today, HSA is a well-respected business among water enthusiasts and ocean rescue teams worldwide. Our diverse group of end users include lifesaving professionals, marine enforcement, military personnel, divers, fishermen and surfers. HSA ships rescue boards both domestically and internationally from our facility in Morro Bay, California and is orchestrated from our administrative and R&D team located in Haleiwa, Hawaii.
